Food waste is one of the most pertinent problems in today's world. Each week on average, a cafe will produce 80kg of used coffee grounds. This is usually sent to landfills where the coffee grounds produce methane (a greenhouse gas). Also, with the current Covid-19 pandemic, mindfulness is becoming increasingly important to ensure individuals stay grounded and improve their mental wellbeing.
Positivitree is a social enterprise that aims to tackle the issue of food waste, starting with our coffee grounds.
Our team consists of four University of Sydney Enactus Members who are passionate about the project and want to make a difference.
